Internet TV turn-key solution
Specialized Integration with video CDNs & Ingestion System

PeerTV is c
onstantly extending its media player architecture to accommodate new forms of streaming and download of media over Internet networks. As the number of service-subscribers increases and user expectations to TV quality challenges current broadband networks, it is critical that the most adequate method is used to achieve optimal delivery. Cost of broadband pipes is also an important consideration as it presents a significant part of Internet-based TV expenditure.

Currently available solutions include:

REAL TIME TV AND OPTIMAL VOD

By using non traditional streaming methods based on technologies such as FEC (Forward Error Correction), efficiency of the streaming process can be increased to new levels, considerably better than traditional HTTP or TCP-based RTSP protocols. PeerTV is offering client-side support and proven integration with such technology and connect interested parties to such 3rd-aprty.

P2P BASED MEDIA DELIVERY

P2P delivery methods either download based (to local storage at the STB side) or real-time, using innovative stream-mode P2P technologies. PeerTV offers built-in support for traditional P2P protocols (bit-torrent) as part of its download solution. In addition, various suppliers of streaming P2P are evaluated and can be added upon specific request.

INGESTION SYSTEM

Any media service starts by a packaging / format adaptation process known as Ingestion. The two main categories – off-line (converting media stored as optical / digital file to streaming format, and live or on-line – where one form of live stream, typically broadcast TV is transformed to streaming format. Both operations involve trans-coding or changing video format from one form to another.

PeerTV is constantly testing various ingestion systems and suppliers, and can assist in selecting the best match to operator’s needs and budget. This activity is especially important as many of the traditional broadcast TV suppliers are found less than optimal for Internet video delivery while others optimize their equipment for PC-targeted Internet TV, not necessarily matching the needs of TV-targeted service.
