PeerStation is a compact Internet Media Set top Box (STB) utilizing the latest in embedded video technology to deliver sophisticated video experience on any type of TV.

Key features include:

Powerful media processor providing full support for all key video compression standards: MPEG1/2/4, DivX / Xvid, WMV/VC1 and H.264, up to HD resolution
   
Advanced media player that can be used to build complete TV application through a programmer's JavaScript interface or via using the optionally bundled MediaXplorer Media Browsing application.

  • Support for a range of video file formats, including: .mpg, .wmv, .mov, etc.
  • Unique support for all major streaming protocols, including: TS, RTP/RTSP, MMS, and unique support for ISMA-2.0 (3GPP) H.264 Streaming
  • Unique implementation of FF, FB (up to x16) applicable to most file formats
 
GUI (Graphical User Interface) programming engine based on TV-optimized browser supporting all key HTML standards such as: HTML 1.1, CSS 1.0, etc.
   
Optional download manager, supporting a range of protocols , including the Bittorrent standard
   
Optional SMB client application allowing flexible access to shared drives on PCs and NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices
   
Optional support for the UPnP standard (a home-media networking protocol) allowing communication with a compatible PC-resident applications
   
Optional Network File Server functionality, based on the Samba standard (when an optional HDD is installed)
   
Remotely upgradeable, initiated by the programmer or user-initiated firmware download and activation process
   
Optional remote management features available to advanced, service-oriented deployments (based on the TR-069 features)
